UPDATE FROM CHRISTIAN, SKIPPER OF COMMON LOONS
8:21, Saturday 28 Jun 25
“We are sailing due south passing Seattle making our way towards the northern opening of Colvos passage we have climbed the ranks throughout the day. We are currently middle of the pack at 43rd overall and we’re gaining positions. Boat is doing great. Courtney is sailing great. Currently, Corey and Michael are in the berths catching a nap. They go on watch at 10 and then I’ll be asleep, but the evening is beautiful and we have following seas, everything is great.”
Christian Phillips – Skipper of Team Common Loons

Day one is in the books, and it has been an amazing ride!
Race was started on time, but at the start we had to drop anchor to ride out the current. After that, we had a stiff breeze at our backs and made amazing time at at a sustained 5-6 knots of speed. With the four of us taking shifts throughout the night, we passed under Tacoma Narrows Bridge at 3:08AM.

24 hours later and we are sailing, rowing, and pedaling our way to Dana Pass, the last large hurdle before out first mark at Olympia Shoal.
Thanks for following us so far on this adventure!!
Corey Swanson – First Mate of Team Common Loons
